Are your family here in Kuwait?
“No my parents are back home but I have a boyfriend.
What’s he like?
“I’m too shy to talk about it.”
“One of my favourite memories in Kuwait was when our manager threw a big party for all the employees in a fancy hotel and they rented a DJ. They acknowledged all of us for hitting our target sale. I had a blast that day. It feels good to be appreciated for all our hard work and when they listen to our suggestions. I met one of the big bosses that day. I was a little intimidated because he’s very quiet. One time he called the store and it turned out he’s actually very nice.”
“We’re not best friends. We’re just pretending.”
“I’ve always wanted to sing in the church even when I was still in the Philippines but I wasn’t confident enough. After three years here in Kuwait, I’m finally doing it.”
“I found a gold Mickey Mouse bracelet!”
What advice can you give to Filipinos who want to come here?
“Walk the path straight and narrow, don’t ever stray and you’ll be here for a long time.”
“My neighbour did my hair”
“My daughter is working in Dubai. I have to help her so my grandchildren can finish college. Two of them are taking Nursing and the other one is studying Medicine.”
“I was worried before I came to Kuwait but I’m very blessed to have friends who are helpful. I’m happy that I am able to serve and work in the church. I didn’t expect I could do this here.”
